For the 2026 Municipal Election in Rotterdam, I got contacted by Rotterdam Next, a freshly started youth association with social endeavors, to create their identity and campaign. Their brief was straightforward: it needs to be simple, fresh and impactful. "A big inspiration for us is the campaign from NYC president Zohran Mamdani!". Challenge accepted. Inspired by the name of the association, I drew a simple but outspoken arrow pointing up, as if it was taking off, inspired from the trendy bold typographies with groovy glyphs, and symbolizing a new hopeful new generation. The visual system is based on high-contrast colors, meant to stand out on the billboards, when put aside standard political Dutch posters. The identity was then expanded to every media formats (social media, stickers, stationary...), so important for successfull election campaigns.
