Frequently asked questions

After a discovery meeting, our collaboration follows a simple process called FORK, in four steps:

  1. Formulation: we think of your communication strategy, outline a vision, formulate goals and define visual directions.
  2. Offer: based on our conversation, I bring a concept and its different assets to the table, which we review together.
  3. Refinement: after the review comes the execution. I fine-tune my proposal until the result is satisfactory to both of us. This is when I work towards the production of the final deliverables.
  4. Kick-off: after a presentation of the final outcome and an off-boarding moment, it is time to reveal our work to the world! In addition, you get up to a couple of hours of aftercare within one month after the kick-off.

As soon as possible! Unless we agree otherwise during our first meeting, I usually start with our project right after we sign an agreement.

By default, I offer unlimited corrections. They are included in the price. This avoids difficult conversations at a later stage of our collaboration, so we can both sail with a peaceful mind. On average, we achieve satisfactory results in 3 to 4 rounds of revisions.

It will probably sound weird to you, but I usually bring a single proposal to the table, after our first preliminary meeting. I prefer giving you one solid proposal than multiple half-baked ideas. If we realize that this proposal will not work, I’ll offer you a different one free of charge.

No. I will focus on the visual aspect of your project only. Nevertheless, I am very good in syntax and grammar, which I use to make decisions when Typography and long texts are involved. I can give you guidance with this. For websites, I will not write your Privacy policies, Return policies and the like. You will have to create them yourself.

Depending on your project scope and budget, I can also take care of printing parts. My favorite printing method is risography, because it is the most eco-friendly and cheap option. Although it comes with some limitations, it is also very popular for its bright colors. I know this technique very well and know print shops where it is available. We can discuss this while making your budget. I have a good experience in print-making and will design your publications accordingly. I can also put you in contact with a printer.

The fee is always based upon your budget and needs. I do not charge per hour, but per project. This way, we both know what we are getting into from the start. My prices vary according to who you are (student, freelancer, NGO or corporation for example), to accommodate every budget. You can check the different packages on this page. Projects with bigger scope an requirements will get a dedicated offer.

Yes! If you have something to trade other than money, let’s have a look together!

Not as such, but my pricing offers take your situation into account. If you have a lower budget, you'll get a dedicated package, which is basically a discounted price.

Yes! I have been there before, this is something we can discuss during our first meeting.

Yes, upon the start of our collaboration, I will ask you to bring 25% of the amount we agreed on for the project. This is a fair way to guarantee you that I will deliver good work (or I shall perish), and a way for me to keep the studio’s shenanigans running.

Yes. If you want to use the services of a third party for the web development and ask me to focus on the design and interactions instead, it is completely fine by me too.

For web-design, I use Wordpress.org in combination with Oxygen builder. Wordpress is a free, flexible, sustainable and open-source tool that is also the industry standard. I will not work with other CMS that rely on hosting based in the U.S.A. or with ties with military activities.

Yes! I will always make sure that your onboarding process will run smoothly, and will provide general support during the first month after delivery, free of charge. So you are not alone!

I will provide general support for up to 2 hours during the first month after delivery, free of charge. This includes fixing mistakes that are my responsibility (bugs, faulty design etc.). For later changes and new implementations to your website, we will discuss a new financial agreement, or you can get a monthly subscription for maintenance.

If you get the Essential or Whimsical packages, yes. I will provide support with SEO basics. Nevertheless, good SEO copy is a work of its own. I would recommend getting help from an SEO copy writer for better results.

With the Basic pack, you get three pages. With the Essential pack, you get up to 6 pages, including a page template that you can edit on your own. With the Whimsical pack, you get unlimited pages.

Yes! I have experience with Woo Commerce (my preference in combination with wordpress) and Shopify.

Yes, but not too many. You will need to purchase your hosting and domain name yourself. I can recommend you places to do so. For e-commerce websites, you will also have transactions and banking fees connected to your web shop activities. These vary depending on the payment services you use.

Of course! You will get a dedicated domain name for your site. You need to keep in mind that this comes at an extra cost, and comes with hosting prices. These vary depending on your provider. If you don't have your own already, I will guide you with this.

For desktop publishing, I use Affinity. For web design, I use Wordpress.org in combination with Oxygen builder. In general, I try to work with free (or freemium), libre, open source softwares (FLOSS) whenever possible. Most of my digital activity happens on hardware, I store no data on cloud services, besides my website (hosted by o2switch, an independent French company).

No, and I will never use it. I prefer the beauty of handmade creations and human collaboration. In general, I try to minimise my use or dependence on technology.

This not my expertise. I don’t do motion design or video editing.Nevertheless, I can produce assets and stills for your video content, and I can also recommend you colleagues who will do this very well!

Sustainability is at the core of every decision I make.

  • In the use of software and technology: boycott of AI, refurbished and pre-owned gear, open-source software, etc.
  • In my output: I pay close attention to the ecological footprint and afterlife of what I do (materials lifecycle, energy consumption for websites, amount of ink used in print, etc.)
  • In the use of local supplies (NL or EU)
  • In my network: I work only with people based in the Netherlands or in Europe. Engaging with my local community is important for me.
  • In the way I work: strict working hours, time allocated to leisure and experiments, cultural visits, etc.
